CAP YEI established a replication center in Kakamega town and is located at the Kakamega Youth Polytechnic. The establishment of this replication center was based on the excellent performance of the Othaya, Thika, Mombasa, and Eldoret replication centers which are hosted by youth polytechnics or technical and vocational education training institutions. Kakamega replication center was purposely situated not only because of its strategic ease of access to youth from the town and its environs, but to also to complement the existing youth polytechnic curriculum portfolio.

Since the inception of the center, 9 batches of 581 students were enrolled, 500 trained and graduated, and 393 or 78% have been placed in jobs. In addition, 29 of graduated youth had started their small businesses while 17 had proceeded for further studies.71 trainees are currently under training.
